The Ruckl Crystal Glassworks

The Rückl family glassworks is renowned for top-quality cut crystal since 1846. However, glass-melting tradition and time-tested glassmaking techniques have been handed down in this family from generation to generation for some three hundred years.
The Ruckl Crystal Glassworks in Nižbor produce world-famous lead crystal and offer guided tours through the factory for groups and individual tourists. During the guided tour of the Rückl glassworks, visitors may witness all the individual steps and traditional techniques of the glass-manufacturing process. Each stage of crystal production is explained and shown, including the art of mouth-blowing, delicate processes of the quality control, incredible craftsmanship of glass cutting and the painter‘s studio. 
Tours are available in English and German and take 45 minutes. Please, keep in mind that group tours must be reserved ahead.

Nenačovice Glassworks

Nenačovice Museums & Galleries
Glasstar is a small family glass workshop in Nenačovice, producing hand-made and hand-tinted glass since 1996.
Nowadays over 200 kinds of items are produced (colorful animals, fruits, vases, bowls, ashtrays, chandeliers, bells, flowers, etc.. The workshop runs all-year-round, seven days a week. Individuals can visit anytime, groups shall book in advance.

Solvay Mines

Svatý Jan pod Skalou Museums & Galleries
Technical enthusiasts should not miss visiting this open-air mining museum with exhibitions on the history of mining and limestone quarrying in the Czech Karst. The newly reconstructed mining railway is busy with original mine engines pulling small wagons.

Svatojánské museum

The museum, originally called the Municipal Museum, was opened in 2013 with a permanent exhibition.
Today,  several hundred exhibits relatig to the history of the town, including photographs, paintings, embroideries, etc. can be seen there.
At Christmass time, an exhibition called Medové Vánoce (Honey Christmass), showing the history of beekeeping in the country, takes place here.

Josef Jungmann Birthplace

Hudlice Museums & Galleries
The native house and memorial of Josef Jungmann is located in the village of Hudlice. The house is typical old Bohemian cottage built in 1718. It is equipped with period furniture and there is an exhibition on the life and work of this Czech linguist and revivalist.
