The Talich tourist path
Beroun Educational Trails and Prilgrimage Routes
The trail is named after the legendary conductor and passionate hiker Václav Talich, following the very paths he once walked.
This journey of discovery offers two routes: the blue route (7 km, approx. 2h 15m) and the shorter green route (3.5 km, approx. 1h 15m). Both are suitable for hikers of all ages (excluding strollers) and lead partly along the edge of the Křivoklát forests, which are part of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Along the way, 14 information stops introduce visitors to diverse local flora (including rare species), rich fauna with an emphasis on birdlife, geological features, and landmarks like Brdatka or Talich Valley. The Václav Talich Educational Trail is perfect for family trips, outings with friends, or solo walks.
The path also intersects two major pilgrimage routes: the 300km Říp–Blaník route and the 257km Iron Route. The latter is part of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) European network leading to Santiago de Compostela.
The Václav Talich Educational Trail was officially opened on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
